Press Release: 19 December 2006

Merrow Methodist Church – serving BibleLands for nearly 20 years

BibleLands is delighted to announce the recent appointment of new Trustee, Hugh Bradley, a Methodist from Guildford. Hugh, a retired Communications Director from Debenhams PLC, is the third member of Merrow Methodist Church to become a BibleLands Trustee, following in the footsteps of Ken Mills and the late John Wells, whose combined service to the Charity spanned 19 years.

“I have supported the excellent work of BibleLands for a number of years and am delighted to have this opportunity to become more involved,” Hugh explained. “The work of BibleLands Project Partners in the Middle East plays a crucial witness to the continuing love of Christ in this troubled region. I hope that I will be able to help the Charity in whatever way I can in this privileged role.”

Hugh had the opportunity to take an active role in BibleLands’ work last October, when he joined a group of volunteers to help build houses for low income families in rural Upper Egypt, alongside six other members of Merrow Methodist Church.

Married with two grown-up daughters, Hugh already leads an active life and is a Governor at his local Comprehensive School.
