Impact of previous BibleLands appeals
We have launched many appeals over the last few years and wanted to let you know how much was raised and how BibleLands spent that money. Our partners in the Middle East are so grateful for all your support, money and prayers.

Christmas 2011: We are so grateful to our generous supporters for helping us to raise £77,181 for our Holy Land Christmas appeal. This appeal focussed on children with disabilities, and how some families react negatively to having a disabled child. The money raised will go towards educating people and supporting families (particularly mothers), helping to remove some of the stigma of having a child with disabilities. Thank you for your generous support!
Summer 2011: This appeal raised £42,053, to help us change the tune of prejudice in the Middle East and help boys like
Harutyun to realise his dreams. Thank you for helping us in this vital work!
Easter 2011: This appeal focused on refugees in Egypt, telling the story of Ayanna and the help and hope she received through partners in Egypt. An impressive £72,549.19 was raised - thank you for your generosity!
Christmas 2010: We raised £87,485.44 for our Holy Land appeal at Christmas. It focused on the children of the Holy Land and how we can help them be the peacemakers of tomorrow, overcoming their fear to make a difference in their communities.
Summer 2010: Our summer appeal concentrated on the situation for women and children in Egypt, particularly those who haven't ever been registered. We raised £43,572.83 towards improved literacy, healthcare, water provision and income generation for villages in Upper Egypt.
Easter 2010: £33,640 was raised in response to our Education Programme appeal, which focused on Hope School and how education changes lives, providing a way out of violence.
Christmas 2009: Our appeal focused on the Holy Land, with a special emphasis on the Spafford Centre - still helping mothers and their children today. £87,296 was raised - thank you!
Summer 2009: We raised £53,688.62 for our summer appeal for Al Kafaat, in Lebanon - to complete a new Centre for Training and Sheltered Employment, specifically designed for people with cerebral palsy.
Easter 2009: we launched an emergency appeal for Gaza and a fantastic £129,731.81 was raised - thank you!
In total we sent £148,000 to Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza, to enable them to provide relief and emergency care to those affected by the violence in January 09. The money also meant that they could provide comprehensive follow-up care in 2010.
The money was mostly spent on mobile medical missions (to areas classed as refugee camps), fuel for ambulances/emergency vehicles (necessary for bringing treatment to the camps and transporting patients to the hospital - but made expensive by the restrictions imposed on the area), salaries for extra medical staff, medical supplies and medicine, and parcels of food/basic necessities (those receiving medical treatment from the hospital were also given food).
The hospital director told us, "Because of the ongoing conflicts in the Gaza Strip, the hospital has suffered with its community throughout the years. However, the work of healing in the name of Christ continues to the present day... just as Christ ministered to the poor and needy, so does Al Ahli Hospital. Thank you for your support of this vital, life-saving work."
