Memorial Fund

Coping with bereavement and grief is a very personal matter, yet for all of us, losing a loved one is a time of both sorrow and reflection. Many relatives and friends find that giving money in someone’s memory is a positive and healing way to overcome their grief, by channelling their energies into giving money to help others who are in need.

Setting up a Memorial Fund in a loved one’s name is a very special way of remembering them and celebrating their life. Named directly after the person you have lost, the fund offers family, friends and work colleagues the opportunity to contribute to a living memory – something that will acknowledge their life and the impact that they have made on you in a very personal way.

A Memorial Fund is open to contributions from anyone and can be supported in any way that you choose. You may prefer to remember special occasions or you can give a regular gift. If you would like additional ideas for fundraising, we will help you in whatever way that we can.

The fund remains open as long as you wish – there is no obligation to keep it open longer than you feel necessary. And all funds raised will be used to support BibleLands’ Project Partners in the Middle East.

Every gift acts as a tribute to your loved one, and a wonderful contribution towards the work of BibleLands.

Arthur Walker

Jennifer Walker lost her husband, Arthur, in 2004.

Both Jennifer and Arthur had been supporting BibleLands for some years.

Jennifer's story...

Arthur had a lifelong interest in model trains and built up a fantastic collection. Following Arthur’s death, Jennifer decided to sell the models to keen enthusiasts and friends, who were invited to make a gift to BibleLands’ work in memory of Arthur. The money raised was used to fund a piece of equipment that enables blind students at a special school in Lebanon to use computers by touch.

Jennifer is delighted with the way that the money has been used: “It seemed so appropriate to my family and me that money raised in his memory should go to BibleLands. It helps so much to know that the money has been so well spent.”
