More Infomation:
Founded: 1951
Director: Mrs Seta Karageozian
Beginnings:
This School was originally established for 20 young children in a two-roomed flat. As it expanded, the School moved to a new building and primary and intermediate sections were also added.
Activities:
As well as learning Arabic and Armenian, the students are taught English from an early age and write in all three scripts. Thanks to a BibleLands grant, the School has a computer laboratory and refurbished library. The School focuses on the artistic abilities of the students and extra-curricular activities include a choir and sports clubs. Students from the drama club have been invited to participate in an International Theatre Festival in Armenia. Armenians are proud of their heritage and that they were the first nation to adopt Christianity. There is a church on the School’s campus and the pastor serves the whole community. The School holds daily chapel services and teaches Bible study. The School also runs a home-support programme, where students can stay at school after their lessons to receive help with their homework. This is very useful for those students whose parents are illiterate and unable to provide this help at home.
