DUET work closely with village leaders on programmes that enable rural communities to break out of the cycle of poverty through educational, agricultural and medical support.

Founded: 1998

Beginnings:
DUET was founded to help lessen the unbalanced economic growth and stark difference in living conditions between urban and rural areas. It supports the development of entire villages through projects that benefit every individual.

Activities:

BibleLands began working with DUET in 2003 in the village of Beni Khalil, and has since supported a range of community development projects in communities across Upper Egypt. In May 2010 BibleLands trustees awarded a three-year grant to fund community development work in two villages in Beni Suef; BibleLands also supports a women's literacy project.
